Close to 50% of families who stay at our House come from Northern Alberta, which is why we opened an office in Grande Prairie. Expanding our reach into the regions that we serve has had a huge impact on our families, volunteers, and donors.
This past month we saw an immense amount of kindness from the Peace Region:
Kid’s With Cancer and the BrainWorks team hosted a workshop on resilience, and invited our Peace Region families to attend. Families often return to their home communities feeling lost and disconnected, and we are proud to partner with other organizations to lighten the burdens of families with sick children.
Anysa Hansen is a fundraising and volunteering wonder. She continues to be one of our most ambitious Pop Tab Program ambassadors in the Peace Region. Last month she collected approximately 40lbs of pop tabs, which we recycle and receive a donation for.
Thank you to Winston’s Gym and the Spirit of Wellness Expo for supporting RMHCNA with their strong man competition. They collected donations so that we can continue to be a place of comfort and compassion for families.
It is incredible to see the impact that communities have on the House, and we are grateful for the kindness shown to our families.
