This past Friday, FC Edmonton and Pasta Pantry kicked off their Goals that Give initiative by providing a delicious lunch and dinner to families at the House. During this season, for each goal that the Eddies score on home turf, Pasta Pantry, the team meal provider for all FC Edmonton home games, will donate a meal for House families. Goals That Give kicked off with two meals provided, but also with a very healthy 11 goals already scored before the launch last Friday!
To celebrate, players from FC Edmonton played mini soccer with the House Heroes. For well over an hour, the players and parents were treated to giggles, laughter and the joy of watching kids enjoy a normal moment. The sounds of joy were so loud that they inspired families listening from their rooms to come downstairs and join in.
The players were our heroes that evening, bringing even more joy by singing and dancing on request, sharing a meal with our families and posing for photos and autographs. On Saturday a supply of tickets for Sunday’s home game even arrived at the House so that our families could enjoy a sunny Sunday FC Edmonton style.
The team must have been inspired by our House Heroes, as they added four more Goals That Give in their game against the Atlanta Silverbacks, bringing the total meals pledged this season to 15!
Thank you, FC Edmonton and Pasta Pantry, for bringing fun and food together through soccer to our families. Visit FC Edmonton for more information on the Goals That Give initiative.
