One of our House Heroes favourite activities is doing art, so I thought let’s combine something they love to do with our weekly Field Trip. After speaking the owner, Shelley, from Crankpots, we set up a time and were warmly welcomed at her studio on Whyte Avenue last Wednesday.

Each of our parents and kids were able to choose an item to paint and got started right away. We all sat around the same table working on our pieces and visiting with each other, which was very calming and comforting.

To top off the afternoon, Shelley donated a beautiful vase for us to use in a silent auction at our upcoming golf tournament. Each of our House Heroes will put their painted thumbprint onto the vase and Shelley will use her magic to turn the thumbprints into beautiful little bees and butterflies. This donation is incredible not only because it will help raise funds for our House, but because it gives the children who weren’t able to attend our  Field Trip a chance to be included in the painting fun we had.

Thank you so much Shelley for your generosity, we had a wonderful time on our Field Trip and look forward to visiting again soon.
