Below Kacie, our Recreation & Education Coordinator, speaks about her latest field trip with the RMHCNA House Heroes:

Friday we were able to have another behind-the-scenes look at the Edmonton Valley Zoo! We visited the lemurs in their cage and fed them some mushy banana. We quickly found out they like to use humans as step stools to get where they need to go. We then got a one on one visit with an armadillo and a hyrax. The hyrax looked kind of like a large mouse, but we quickly learned their closest relative is the elephant!

It was such a fun day for all, even with the rain and puddles! Our tour guide Derrick even arranged for a complimentary trip on the merry go round. A huge thank you to Derrick and the Edmonton Valley Zoo for hosting us!
