One of our latest field trips was to the Royal Alberta Museum and it was a little bittersweet. RMHCNA has been to this museum for field trips many times over the last couple of years, each time with a new group of House Heroes who find something new and special that they love best. For some, it’s the bug exhibit, others love the dinosaurs or the beautiful gemstones.
Our latest trip was no different, except for the fact that it was the very last time we would ever be able to visit that location before they close their doors and move downtown. The Glenora location is nostalgic for me personally because I remember going on field trips there for school when I was a kid. To be able to take the House Heroes here as an adult and witness their reactions and see their joy has truly been a privilege. I look forward to taking many more groups of families to the new Royal Alberta Museum downtown when it is open.
