On Friday, July 27, the RMHCNA House Heroes and their parents headed over to the beautiful University of Alberta Botanic Garden.
We started the day learning about insects and animals that live in the trees. We closely examined the logs to see what we could find.
From the woods we headed to the gardens, where everyone made sure to stop and smell the flowers. The poppies were especially pretty.
Then each of us grabbed a net and tip-toed into the pond to try our luck at catching frogs. After all our hard work we caught a frog. Sam, one of the House Heroes, named the frog…Sam!
House Hero Taylor jumped at the opportunity to hold Sam the Frog.
We ended our day with a “bang” at the bell in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden!
Thank you to the University of Alberta Botanic Garden for having us. We had an absolute blast!
