In 2014, 38.6% of the families staying at Ronald McDonald House® Northern Alberta were seeking cardiac care for their children. Cardiology continues to be the highest demographic of childhood illness that brings families to RMHNA. We’re celebrating Heart Month with impact statements from our families’ hearts. They are love notes from our families to yours!

Anella Jantz, whose baby girl, Eva, lost her battle with Congenital Heart Disease: Because of Eva I  learned to treasure each moment I am gifted with her siblings. Because of RMHNA I have sweet memories of Eva, with her brothers, to treasure.

Robyn Land, whose little heart warrior, Wyatt, is thriving at home: Because of Wyatt I learned the true definition of what the word ‘mom’ means. Because of RMHNA I had a safe place to land after every hard day.

Warren Land, Wyatt’s dad: Wyatt taught me that sometimes the smallest parts of life can mean the world. RMHNA taught me the biggest life changing surprises are collectively do-able.

And last but certainly not least, Wyatt’s big sister Sophia, four years old: Because of RMHNA I have new family to visit.

Watch for more letters tomorrow. Happy Heart Month!
