We’re excited to announce that we’ve outgrown our previous name and are now officially Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Alberta (RMHCNA). This may seem like a small change, but it means big progress for our House. The new “Charities” designation reflects our House becoming a chapter of Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC). This is an exciting step for us as we continue to grow and serve more families in need.
“Becoming a chapter of RMHC® is a big step forward in our goal of improving the lives of all families with seriously ill or injured children,” says Martin Dugas, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Alberta. “We are honoured to receive this recognition and plan to continue helping families heal better together beyond the four walls of our House.”
In 1985, we opened our doors to provide 16 rooms for families with seriously ill or injured receiving treatment in Edmonton. Over the past 30 years, we’ve grown to provide 32 family suites and extensive programming that has evolved into more than just a home away from home. While the Edmonton hospitals take care of the child, we strive to care for the family unit as a whole with free meals, an on-site school, weekly field trips and much more.
Along with our new name and new logo, we’ve also launched a new website to spread the word. Please browse the new site to learn more about how we help families in need.
