Christmas is a time of wonder and magic, especially when you’re surrounded by family and friends creating memories to carry within our hearts as we journey through life.
Christmas can also be a time of stress and worry; a time of financial strain which, when living with a sick child, is often compounded with so many other worries and fears.
This year Dynacorp delivered some Christmas magic of their own to our many Peace Region families. In November, Dynacorp’s Corporate Development Manager, Patrick McDonald, reached out to say they wanted to support families with a financial gift to go towards something specific for the kids.
After discussions, it was agreed that Santa’s Workshop would be a great fit and the transformation began. Grande Prairie offices were filled top to bottom with toys for every boy and girl, big and small. With Patrick’s vision of bringing happiness to the kids and their families, a community was inspired. Dynacorp raised $6,250 to support RMHCNA and that was followed by local toy drives at the QE11 Emergency Department, Big Country Toy Box, as well as our friends at Catwauk Compression Ltd and Canadian tire.
Together over 300 gifts were distributed from High Level to Peace River to Grande Prairie. It is because of our community partners that kindness is felt and shared among one another.
A simple conversation made magic happen for so many families journeying through life with a seriously ill or injured child.
