On May 7th, 2014, we joined McDonald’s® Canada Restaurants and Ronald McDonald Houses® across the nation in celebration of Canada’s 21st McHappy Day®. On McHappy Day®, over $9 million was raised for children’s charities across Canada!

The McDonald’s® Canada Owner/Operators have been supporting McHappy Day® for 21 years. They excite their teams, engage their communities and are the driving force of the continued yearly success and growth of the program.

Bob and Jane Laprairie were hosts in their restaurants and they have each participated in every McHappy Day® to date! They choose to support RMHNA through McHappy Day® as well as other fundraising avenues through the year. They support their local Ronald McDonald House® because of the family stories of stress and hardship that they have heard and seen over their years. On a deeper level, they have had grandchildren born very premature who have needed long term stays in local hospital NICUs.

The Laprairies recently chose to connect their management and crew members to RMHNA by cooking a Home for Dinner for the 32 families who call Ronald McDonald House® Northern Alberta home. Their team came away humbled and grateful for the opportunity to ‘plug in’ to the charity that their efforts serve. Bob and Jane know that in McHappy Days® to come, their customers will be hearing impassioned stories from their crew members and managers about why each purchase on the ‘day of smiles’ makes a big difference.

Thank you for supporting our House Heroes and others across the nation on McHappy Day®. We can’t wait to see and share next year’s smiles!
